Mozdex.com Developers Info
Developer Support for Mozdex.com Search Engine:
We are actively seeking Java/jsp/html developers to help build our search services. If you are a developer and would like to join the mozdex.com team, please Contact Us and let us know a bit about yourself and what you would like to do!
OpenSearch
Mozdex.com is proud to continue adoption of open standards and has moved forward in supporting the OpenSearch RSS spec that was made popular through a9.com/amazon.com.
OpenSearch RSS
Many sites today return search results as a tightly integrated part of the web site itself. Unfortunately, those search results can't be easily reused or made available elsewhere, as they are usually wrapped in HTML and don't follow any one convention. OpenSearch offers an alternative: an open format that will enable those search results to be displayed anywhere, anytime. Rather than introduce yet another proprietary or closed protocol, OpenSearch is a straightforward and backward-compatible extension of RSS 2.0, the widely adopted XML-based format for content syndication.
Using OpenSearch
Mozdex.com easily provides RSS/XML result sets in the OpenSearch format by the following example:
http://www.mozdex.com/open.jsp?query=webhosting&start=10
- {searchTerms} (webhosting) URL-encoded search terms
- {startIndex} (10) The offset, in individual search results, of the first search result
Replace {searchTerms} with your query & {startIndex} with any offset you use (for pagination & more results beyond the default first 10).
Please note that this service is subject to change & enhancements, please check back frequently for latest updates

Please Contact Us if you have any questions or comments on using this feed. You can see this feed in action by adding the "Mozdex" column to your search results at a9.com or you can type in the above query example to see the raw xml output in your web browser.
More to Come...
