No wedding is complete without a bridal shower and no bridal shower is complete without the appropriate invitations. Of course, many people just invite their guests verbally to a bridal shower, but why do that when there are so many beautiful invitations that the guests that retain as a memento of the occasion?
With so many brides today choosing to include their fiancé in the occasion, you can select from cards that are for a female only perspective as well as those that are for a couple. You will also find cards that are appropriate for a Bachelorette party as well as invitations from the bridesmaids and others involved with the preparations.

The invitations you choose should be indicative of the theme of the bridal shower, which may or may not be the same as the wedding. In many cases, the bridal shower has its own theme and color scheme and is contingent upon whether the party includes the groom or is just for the bride.
If it includes the groom, you will naturally have a different color theme than if it's for the bride, and there may even be a different theme. You will need to decide before you order your invitations whether the groom is to be included, so that you know how to have the invitations printed.
Certainly, if you are hosting a "girls night out" party for the bride, it is not going to include the groom, and possibly not anyone who may be offended at any of the goings-on. If the bride is over 21, many times the Bachelorette party will include a stripper, and older adults may be offended.
You have your choice here of indicating that on your invitations or not inviting those you know would not enjoy themselves. Your invitation of choice doesn't have to be risqué simply because you are ordering adult entertainment, but you will choose a different theme than if you were going to simply have a Bridal Shower for everyone. Even a Bridal Shower may sometimes include adult entertainment, but it is not necessary to indicate that on the invitations.
Remember, if you are sending formal invitations rather than verbally inviting guests, you have to be sure to provide response cards. Some may still call you to let you know if they are coming, but response cards are great for those out of town who might be interesting in coming to the shower. Don't fail to invite someone because you think they won't comeyou may find that they are offended because they were expecting an invitation.
