2) Handheld mapping GPS systems (Price: $150 and up) – These kinds of GPS systems display maps, which have been pre-loaded or uploaded from a computer. Meaning, they are only used inside the vehicle.
If you’re buying a new car, a built-in GPS receiver can be an add-on. However, these GPS systems are more expensive compared to other units.
4) GPS system for PDAs and laptops – Unlike GPS handhelds and automotive, units for PDAs and laptops have different methods in integrating PDA. To know which kind of GPS system is perfect for your electronics, it is best to ask support from the manufacturer of the laptop or PDA.
In choosing the GPS system, you need to determine how you wish to use the unit. If you’re an outdoors enthusiast, you could choose standard handhelds, mapping GPS systems or a PDA with GPS.
