Date Ideas for the Senior CrowdGetting older doesn't mean you no longer want to go out and have a good time or that you don't still want to meet new and interesting people. But, if you are a single senior, you might feel at a loss for what you and a new companion can do for a good time. Here are a few ideas that are sure to be fun for both of you.
Go Dancing
Even if you aren't a great dancer, going out dancing is fun and is also a great platform for testing out the chemistry you share with your date. If you are feeling too nervous to go out dancing, take a lesion or two in order to shake off the rust. Who knows, you might even meet someone at the lesson!
Have a Picnic
A romantic picnic for two can be very laid back and also allows you to get to know one another better. You can even plan the picnic together by going shopping for the food and the wine. Then, place it in a basket, find a lovely spot, spread out a blanket, and enjoy your time together.
Enjoy Sports Together
If you both enjoy a sport such as golf or tennis, this can be a great date activity. Or, just take a long walk together. This will help you both stay in shape while also providing you with quality time to get to know each other.
Take a Mini-Cruise
What better way to take in some beautiful scenery, get your heart pumping, and get to know each other all at the same time than to take a mini-cruise? Rent a rowboat or a kayak and sail out in a local lagoon, river, or lake.
Be Charitable
If you and your date support the same cause, it might be fun for you to attend a charity function or auction together. This will help take the stress off as you can mingle with others, while also providing you with something in common to talk about. And, you will both be contributing to a cause that you care about at the same time.
Attend a Reading
If you are both book lovers, you might attend a reading at the bookstore and then spend some time together looking through the store. This will give you a common ground and provide you with something to talk about as you discuss your favorite authors and books. Afterward, go out for coffee and a dessert and continue your discussion over the table.
Be Artful
An art museum or gallery tour can be an excellent date for seniors. You will both certainly have an opinion on the works you see. Your different interpretations can really help you get to know what your date is really about and how he or she thinks and views the world.
Attend the Fair
Getting up there in years doesn't mean that you cant still feel and act like a kid. Attend a fair together and play games on the midway or check out the 4-H projects. With so many things to see and to do, you will have plenty to talk about while getting to know one another.
Try Online Dating
There are many dating sites out there that cater specially to the older crowd. Give it a try!
