Xenical - The Fat Blocker

Xenical is used in helping people with obesity problems, which fit a certain weight-height requirement, to lose weight and maintain a healthy body. According to studies, the weight loss effectiveness of Xenical continues to take effect as long as you take it.

Xenical works by blocking the fat from your intestines to prevent being absorbed by the body. The undigested, blocked fats are then eliminated through bowel movements. It is used in managing obesity, weight loss and weight maintenance, particularly to people who are following a reduced-caloric diet.

However, not everyone can take Xenical. Medical experts do not allow Xenical consumption for people who have gallbladder, kidney and food absorption problems. In addition, just like any other weight loss supplement, Xenical should not be taken by pregnant and breast-feeding mothers.

Xenical can cause both serious and minor side effects. It is important that you discuss these side effects with your doctor. Make sure to stop consuming Xenical and seek immediate medical attention if you experience hives, closing of throat, shortness of breath and swelling of face, tongue or lips.

Other minor side effects that usually occur include oil spotting and discharge, gas with discharges, increase number of bowel movements, uncontrollable bowel movements, oily discharges and urgent need to have bowel movements. Although you can continue to use Xenical when you experience any of these effects, it is recommended that you consult with your doctor to ensure proper health.

According to experts, the bowel changes that you will experience from taking Xenical are natural effects of the pill. This is actually an indication that the Xenical is blocking your fats.

The changes to your bowel usually occur after consuming meals with higher amounts of fat than prescribed. These are generally temporary effects and can disappear as you follow the recommended diet (usually less 30% fat) and as the treatment continues.

Since Xenical was designed to block fats, it could also affect your body’s absorption of fat-soluble vitamins. For this reason, doctors usually recommend supplementation of multivitamins containing vitamins E, D and K as well as beta-carotene. Vitamin supplements are usually taken once every day, at least 3 hours before or after taking Xenical.

Make sure that you do not take excessive doses of Xenical. Generally, three 120 milligrams daily can provide a beneficial effect to your weight loss plan. Doses greater than 300 mg a day can be harmful to your health. See your doctor regularly if you’re taking Xenical treatments.
